Facilities

Movement Lab

The movement lab is an extension of the gymnasium on Hönggerberg. It is used by the Academic Sports Centres Zurich (ASVZ) and the Institute for Human Movement Sciences. It is equipped for acrobatics, gymnastics, and climbing. It offers a wide range of gymnastic apparatus including a ground-level trampoline with mounted harnesses, rings, springboards, a foamed pit, a climbing wall, and many more. Additionally, the ground-level force-plates are an important tool for our lab.

Gait Lab

The Gait Lab is the group's base camp. Although most of our research activities are field-based, e.g. in schools, homes, and clinics, the gait lab provides the equipment needed to test and validate the implemented methods. The setup changes constantly, depending on which methods are currently being employed for our research. Available equipment includes pressure-sensitive walkways to measure temporal spatial parameters, 2D movement analysis, several devices for postural assessments as well as a variety of neurophysiological measurement devices (e.g. EMG, EEG, or fNIRS).
